Busy and a little break.

I decided to take a little break last week. It was a short week and after having family over the Labor Day weekend I just needed a little break to catch up with my housework. It was not all work you see I have been reading a book which doesn't leave a lot of time for much more. This weekend I have been working on a few things and will share them with you soon.

Here is a little PANTRY sign I made this afternoon.

* Edited: So sorry but I am not good a tutorials yet. I found these metal signs at Goodwill. This particular GW gets (brand new) donations from Target. The signs are all brown and say "All Star" on them and I new I could refurbish them with some new word or saying. I started off by priming it and painting it cream with a little bit of a distressed look. Still woring on perfection this distressed look. I made this "Pantry" sign for my friend. I used a foam stamp for the fleur de lis. For the letters I used my computer. I found a font that I liked and enlarged it. I then cut each letter individually and used chaulk on the back of the paper for tracing on to the sign. I used black craft paint and a small brush to paint the letters. I will try to remember to do a step by step on my next sign.

Love the Fleur De Lis.

You had asked me what color green I painted my night stand and I think it was apple green by rustoleum. I bought it at Lowes.

Cute! You have such great ideas -- I love to come and see what you're doing.

Do come over and give me some good advice on my master bedroom. ugh.

Also, I've been looking for some Southern Pecan creamer. Girl, I can't find any, even in the city near us! Can you see my sad little face???

Thank you all for your sweet comments. I promise next time I will do some sort of tutorial on this.

Shannon,

My book is "If I am missing or Dead". I was at the book store with my daughter and picked it up randomly from the bargain section. I always forget how fun it can be to read a book. The next one I want to read is "The secret life of bees" I want to read it before the movie comes out.

Blanca.
